Vourvourou

Vourvourou is located only ten kilometers from Agios Nikolaos (120 kilometers from Thessaloniki) on the Sithonia peninsula and at a glance enriches the sight with various images and relaxes the visitor with its natural peace.
You will find rooms to let by the beach, where the soul calms with the melodic whisper of the leaves. Besides the blue waters and the fresh fish at the taverns, one of the possibilities offered to the visitor is the boat ride to Diaporos, the largest of the nine islands of Vourvourou, which is located across the bay. There you can see the clearest and most aquamarine waters of the Mediterranean and at the same time discover the most isolated beaches of Halkidiki.

In Vourvourou, you can see the fishermens’ settlement , that are still inhabited, where the visitor can buy fresh fish. Walking along by the sea you shall reach the narrow peninsula of Xifara and then an isolated bay, “Karidi” beach, where you can also find the local beach bar.
Those of you who prefer the mountain can walk along the paths of imposing Itamos and enjoy the fascinating view of Vourvourou bay from the top and if you are lucky, see wild deer or the sun-clad roofs of Agios Nikolaos.

It is also worth visiting the settlement of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki teaching staff, which is an exemplary model settlement at a Panhellenic scale, with total respect to environmental rules.
The area has supermarkets, restaurants, pizzerias, cafes, Bars, Beach Bars, car rental agencies, popular art stores, daily Greek and foreign press, etc, and in the village of Agios Nikolaos (14 km), there is a medical center, pharmacies, police station and a Post Office.
